Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 September 2026 · Effective: 1 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Job For My CV Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on jobsformycv.com, what each one does, how long it lasts and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Your choice, in one place

Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you choose. Everything else — preferences, analytics and marketing — waits for your consent. You can change your decision at any time using the button in section 6, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. It lets the site recognise your browser on later visits or across pages. Cookies are described by three properties:

  • First-party or third-party — set by us, or by another organisation whose service is embedded in the page.
  • Session or persistent — deleted when you close the browser, or stored for a defined period.
  • Purpose — what the cookie is actually used for, which is what the law cares about.

We also use two similar technologies: local storage, which stores small amounts of data in your browser (we use it to remember saved jobs and your cookie choice), and pixels in some emails, which tell us whether a message was opened.

2. Why we use them

  • To keep you signed in and to keep your session secure;
  • To remember settings such as your filters, language and the jobs you have saved;
  • To measure how the site is used so we can fix what is slow or confusing;
  • To measure whether our advertising reaches people who find the service useful;
  • To protect the Platform against fraud and automated abuse.

3. Categories and the cookies we set

3.1 Strictly necessary (always active)

Required for the Platform to function. These do not require consent because without them the service you asked for cannot be delivered.

Cookie names and durations can change when a provider updates their service. We review this list quarterly and on every change to our tag configuration.

4. Third-party content

Some pages embed content from other services — for example a video player or a map. When that content loads it may set its own cookies, governed by that provider's policy rather than ours. Where such content is not strictly necessary we load it only after you have given consent to the relevant category, using a click-to-load placeholder in the meantime.

Fonts, icons, scripts and stylesheets used on this site are served from our own domain rather than a third-party CDN, so they do not set cookies or expose your IP address to another provider.

Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure service and are exempt from the consent requirement under the ePrivacy rules. All other cookies are set only with your consent under Article 6(1)(a) UK/EU GDPR.

Your consent lasts for 12 months, after which we ask again. We also ask again if we add a new purpose or a new provider in a category you accepted. We keep a record of the consent you gave, when you gave it and what the banner said at the time, as required to demonstrate compliance.

6. Managing your preferences

You can change your cookie choice at any time. Selecting an option below clears the stored decision and shows the consent banner again on your next page load.

Read the privacy section

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out while consent was valid. If you decline optional cookies, the Platform continues to work — you may simply need to reapply filters more often, and we will have less information about which parts of the site cause problems.

7. Browser and device controls

Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies independently of our banner. The relevant settings are usually found under Privacy or Site Settings:

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data (macOS and iOS).
  • Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, will prevent you from signing in or submitting an application. Private browsing modes usually clear all cookies when the window closes, which means you will see the consent banner on every visit.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is still no agreed standard for how websites should respond to "Do Not Track" headers, so we do not act on them. We do honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: where your browser sends it, we treat it as a refusal of analytics and marketing cookies and do not show the banner unless you change the setting.

9. Changes to this policy

We review this policy quarterly and whenever our tag configuration changes. Material changes — a new category, a new provider or a change of purpose — are notified through the consent banner and require fresh consent. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
